Dr. A. V. Mohan Rao
Founder and CEO of Spectrum Renewable Energy Limited
As Founder and Chairman of Spectrum Renewable Energy Limited, Dr. Rao brings industry expertise arising from over 30 years of experience in the international energy sector. In 1972, he joined GE Power Systems, a division of the General Electric Corporation and a leading global manufacturer of power equipment. During his 18 year career with General Electric, he was involved with various aspects of power generation, including engineering, design and the operation of power plants. In 1990, he joined Spectrum Technologies USA (STUSA) as the Vice President of Marketing and shortly thereafter led STUSA’s initiatives in India. Dr. Rao was responsible for developing Spectrum Power Generation Limited, a 208 MW gas based power plant in India. In 1995, he led the predecessor company of Spectrum Coal & Power Limited in obtaining equity, implementing US clean coal technology, securing partial funding from USAID, and negotiating an EPC and O&M contract. Dr. Rao holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Suresh Dattatray Jadav
President – Construction, Material Management & Procurement
Mr. Jadav has over two decades of civil engineering experience in the construction of various industrial and commercial projects. Mr. Jadav serves as SREL’s chief civil engineer at the Warana project site and has overseen the civil construction activities related to the development of the entire plant. Mr. Jadav is also responsible for many of the marketing and logistics activites at the Warana plant. Mr. Jadav holds a degree in civil engineering and he was also honored by Konkan Railways for his best engineering practices during his tenure with them.
B. Sarat Chandra
Vice President – Finance
Mr. Chandra has over of 12 years of experience in the finance and accounting industry. Mr. Chandra’s responsibilities with his previous employers included project financing activities, budgeting, cash flow forecasting and setting up and implementing procedures and systems to maintain best accounting and finance practices. Mr. Chandra is currently responsible for project financing activities at SREL and will mainly handle the financing of the Bajaj project that will be implemented over the next few years.
Dr. K K Meher
Senior Scientist
Dr. K.K. Meher has over 25 years of experience in the research and development of bio-energy and anaerobic waste treatment processes for solid and liquid waste in the agricultural industry. He has successfully implemented anaerobic digestion technologies for pressmud (filtercake), de-oil cakes, tobacco and tea industry solid waste and aquatic weeds. He also spent a majority of his research and development efforts on a low cost rice husk ash based water purification unit. Mr. Meher is currently responsible for many of the operating activities at the Warana plant and is overseeing the organic fertilizer activities of the project.
Carsten Linnenberg
Senior Consultant
Mr. Linnenberg brings in-depth international experience and technical knowledge gained through over 10 years of work in the international biogas sector. As head of Biogas Nord’s International Project Development Group, he helped lead the development of a large number of plants worldwide. His areas of expertise include all facets of Biogas technology application, from laboratory research of potential substrates for Biogas plants and concept development & planning to identification of local and international suppliers for construction services and equipments. In addition, he is an expert in applying environmental resource knowledge to link waste and waste water issues with agricultural and renewable energy production, hygiene, water protection, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and soil fertility. Mr. Linnenberg also designs and puts together lab scale biogas plants for companies, institutions and universities and trains employees to develop, run and operate these plants efficiently and effectively.
Jorg Grondke
Senior Construction Engineer
Mr. Grondke has over a decade of experience building plants for Biogas Nord AG. Mr. Grondke has worked in Cuba, Thailand and many European countries building biogas plants of various sizes and scope. Mr. Grondke specializes in the engineering and construction of biogas plants and has overseen many of the construction activities of the Warana project over the past 18 months.
